What We Believe

CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST

Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible written Word of God.

- that there is one GOD, eternally existent in three persons: GOD the Father, GOD the Son and GOD the Holy Spirit.

- in the Blessed Hope, which is the rapture of the Church of God, which is in Christ at His return.

- that the only means from being cleansed from sin is through repentance, faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ, and being baptized in water.

- that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

- that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer.

- that the baptism in the Holy Ghost, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.

- in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit: by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in this present world. AMEN.

Church Conduct

"Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil." Ecclesiastes 5:1

Walking and talking which do not pertain to the worship are the lowest type of disrespect to God and His house. Some people walk in church so that people will see them, their clothes, or that people may see who they have come with. The church is not a place for us to be seen. When we enter the church, our prayer should be: "Lord, hide me behind the cross, cover me with the blood of Jesus and let men see Christ and Him alone in me."

If you must talk, talk to God with your "AMEN'S" and "HALLELUJAH'S" as you feed upon His word.

Eating candy and chewing gum are also disrespectful to God's house. Chewing gum is like gargling with mouthwash, it should be done in private, not in the Lord's house. Used chewing gum is garbage, and garbage belongs in a garbage can, not under church seats.

Parents, the Bible says: "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 It is wrong for you to feed your children in the sanctuary. It is wrong for you to bring rattles and other toys to church for your child to play with while the minister is attempting to preach God's word. When your child grows up without any respect for the minister or the church, you will be responsible for training him in the way of disrespect.

God has given us this CATHEDRAL, let us show Him by our conduct that we appreciate it.

Jubilee Song

Elder WC Walker-1990

This is the church of Jubilee, This is the house of the Lord,

We lift our voice in praise to Thee, Here in the church of Jubilee

Oh Jubilee, Oh Jubilee, We lift our voice with spirits free

We clap our hands in victory, Here at the church of Jubilee

This is the church of Jubilee, Where the Lord has made us free

We clap our hands in victory, Praising the Lord at Jubilee

Oh Jubilee, Oh Jubilee, We lift our voice with spirits free

We clap our hands in victory, Here at the church of Jubilee.
